Why is Magnetic Compass called the Standard Compass?

A magnetic compass is also called the standard magnetic compass as it is still the "standard" compass against which the accuracy of the other compasses can be measured. Although, with the advent of Gyro compass, the output has become much more accurate, magnetic compass is still considered as standard compass used in navigation. |
