1. The tankscope is used to measure the concentration of HC gases in an INERT atmosphere
2. The sensor element in this instrument is made of non-catalytic hot filament
3. This filament does not involve combustion of HC gases
4. It measures the rate of change of temperature of the hot filament due to the presence of the HC gas
