Concentrate is the product generally produced by metal ore mines. The raw ore is usually ground finely in various comminution operations and gangue (waste) is removed, thus concentrating the metal component. The concentrate is then transported to smelters where it is used to produce useful metals.

The hazards of Concentrate include -

1. High density of cargo which might lead to damages in cargo holds and tank tops etc
2. Dry Shift of cargo (when the moisture content of the cargo is below TML)
3. Wet shift of cargo (when the moisture content of the cargo is above TML)
4. Some concentrate may also be liable to spontaneous combustion
