How to do pressure testing of fire hose?

Following procedures for carrying out pressure testing of fire hoses -

1. Lay down all fire hoses
2. Connect one fire hose to fire hydrant
3. Connect other hoses end-to-end to this hose so as to form a single system
4. Connect a nozzle to the open end
5. Ensure connections are tight
6. Secure the hoses and ensure that they do not run when fire pump is operating
7. When all checks are done start the fire pump and increase discharge pressure up to designated value (usually 6 bar)
8. Start inspecting closely each fire hose for any leakage
9. Give special attention to coupling areas and seized areas
