What are the mandatory publications as per the SOLAS?
|
SOLAS Chapter V Safety of Navigation Reg 27 - "Nautical Charts & Publications" states that vessel should have nautical charts/publications such as Sailing Directions, List of Lights, notices to Mariners, tide tables and all other publications NECESSARY FOR THE INTENDED VOYAGE and they shall be adequate and up to date. Now, this regulation does not specify the "List of Publications" required to be carried. For this you have to refer to the Flag state Circular which specifies the List of Publications required to be carried. One such example is Panama Flag State MMC No 107 "Publications and Records required on vessels of 500 gross tonnage or above with International Registration in the Panamanian Registry". |
